Your Conscious Mind

KerriEnlightenment, Manifestation, Spiritual Intelligence

Your conscious mind functions very much like a binary computer, performing two functions: It accepts or rejects data in making choices and decisions. It can deal with only one thought at a time, positive or negative, “yes” or “no.” This is why people who adopt positive thinking lifestyles regularly read inspirational quotes. Positive affirmations are also beneficial for keeping our brains filled with pleasant and empowering thoughts or visualizations; this is how “the secret” works.

Your conscious mind

Albert Einstein noted that everything in life is vibration, and just like sound waves, your thoughts match the vibrations of everything that manifests in your life. Are you aware of the energies you are putting out consciously or subconsciously?

Did you know – your conscious mind commands, and your subconscious mind obeys

Your subconscious mind is an unquestioning servant that works day and night to make your behaviors fit a pattern consistent with your emotionalized thoughts, hopes, and desires. Your subconscious mind grows either flowers or weeds in the garden of your life, whichever you plant by the mental equivalents you create. The power of your subconscious mind goes further than you might think. Hence we say to be aware of the thoughts (vibrations) you are putting out, and this is how affirmations/manifestations work. The conscious mind is active when you are aware and awake; it is your subconscious mind that takes over when you turn your conscious mind off. The subconscious minds act on already planted habits, affirmations, or memories good or bad. So be mindful of the thoughts you are putting out, and training your subconscious mind.

  • The Conscious Mind – is all your awoken thoughts, memories, emotions of which we are aware of at any given and awoken time. This is the mental processing that allows us to think and talk about rationally and consists of everything inside of our awareness.
  • The Sub-Conscious Mind – is the somatic memory, cognitive thinking, the reservoir of feelings, thoughts, longings, and memories that are outside of our awoken awareness (consciousness). The subconscious mind is always active; it does not turn off, so be cautious of the thoughts you plant, be aware of the ques. The subconscious mind is also the gatekeeper of your comfort zone.
  • Pre-Consicounsess – is the bridge between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind, anything that could be brought into the conscious mind awareness.

And, yes, Sub-Conscious Mind can be retrained but not by conscious decisions nor will power. You can rewire your subconscious mind, with practice and awareness, this is where mantras, prayer, and quieting the mind come into play.

When quieting the mind, the exercises I use to quiet my mind is art, jewelry making, and writing. Sometimes it is going for a walk, rollerblade, or even snowboarding. When you have something you love to do, that makes you quiet the noise. The things that help you to connect to higher -self (source). It is amazing what you learn about yourself and people once you are quiet and listen. You ever notice the fantastic ideas, thoughts, and insights you get when you are in the shower or sitting on the toilet – food for thought.

Here, a few ways to start retraining your mind to be your ally, not your enemy. Be willing to see the inevitable change (see it, feel it, own it as though it is already there); identify your resistance. Permit yourself to be successful (success is what is success to you, not your neighbor). Don’t allow other people’s fears to cast shadows of doubt. Allow positive reinforcement, be present, and grateful for what you already do have (health, family, friends, a roof over your head, sight). Release the attachment of “how.”
